How we grade

Full methodology page coming soon. Below is the short version — expect this to grow as the v1 database is built out.

We grade the molecule, not the brand.

Our unit of analysis is a molecule (e.g. creatine monohydrate), not a specific consumer product. Brands compete on price and quality; the molecule’s evidence base is the same regardless of who packaged it.

Inputs

  • Curated PubMed extraction of randomized controlled trials and meta-analyses.
  • Per-claim grades (e.g. creatine for strength vs. creatine for cognition).
  • Pharmacist review of every entry before it ships to users.

Trust signals on every grade

  • RCT count. How many randomized controlled trials inform the grade.
  • Dose alignment. Whether typical retail doses match the doses used in the studies that found an effect.
  • Effect size. How large the effect was when one was found.

Affiliate trust posture

When we link to a place to buy a molecule, we surface 3+ options. The grade lives on the molecule. The brand has no influence on the grade.
